Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your accounts, and at Barton Peveril, we recommend setting it up for your ClassLink access. This guide will explain what MFA is, why it's important, and provide step-by-step instructions on how to enable it in ClassLink using a mobile authenticator app.

MFA is a security system that requires more than one method of verification to prove your identity when logging in. Instead of just a username and password, MFA asks for an additional "factor" – something you have (like a phone), something you are (like a fingerprint), or something you know (like a PIN). This makes it significantly harder for unauthorized users to access your account, even if they manage to get your password.

Why is MFA Important?

Your ClassLink account provides access to many important resources, including your email, documents, and other educational tools. Enabling MFA helps protect your personal information and college resources from unauthorized access. Even if someone discovers your password, they won't be able to log in without the second authentication factor from your device.

How to Set Up MFA in ClassLink

Follow these steps to set up Multi-Factor Authentication in your ClassLink account using a mobile authenticator app:

Step 1: Navigate to the ClassLink Portal Open your web browser and go to

  3. Entering and verifying the code generated by your authenticator app.
