Mobile Banking

Mobile devices are used everyday and have been incorporated into everyday life. We use it for contacting people, buying things online, play games and the Internet.

However, the risks that mobile devices have are ever increasing because of this. Mobile banking is becoming popular and has been made secure but like anything there are still risks that people need to be aware of:

  • Criminals may try to access your account to gain personal information or money so ensure your device is protected for instance using antivirus software.
  • Don’t use public Wi-Fi when accessing your bank accounts as anyone can access the hotspot and your transactions could be intercepted.
  • It could just be as simple as someone looking over your shoulder and seeing you enter your login details into your mobile device.
  • If you lose your phone you are at risk of someone accessing your bank details and other personal information.

Your bank should have further advice and information on keeping your information secure, information that’s perhaps more unique to them. It may be worth checking their website or getting in contact with them if you’d like further help.
